Don’t be TARDY with your CURB APPEAL.

School has started and the heat is now becoming bearable. Fall is right around the corner. Time is running out to get those outside chores done around your home before old man winter arrives. Here are a few of end of summer outside house to do’s.

First, finish those outside landscaping projects that were started in the spring. Clean up around the outside of your home. Pull all the weeds; trim shrubs and trees and finish the landscaping with your choice of mulch, straw or stone. Visit Lowe’s or your favorite home store and pick out some fall plants and flowers to add some fall color to your curb appeal. Also, fall is the time to re-seed and fertilize your grass. Don’t forget, once leaves begin to fall, you should pick up or blow them at least every other day to protect the life of new grass.

Second, you will want to finish all outside painting projects. Windows and doors should all be checked inside and out for cracks or air leaks. Small cracks should be caulked and painted. Larger cracks can be packed with insulation, then caulked and painted. A little work now can save you hundreds of dollars on your power bill this winter.
